He has reached a career high of rank nine, in the year 2011, when he had also replaced Andy Roddick as the highest ranked American tennis player. He has been a recipient of the Olympic silver, in the year 2000, in the singles tournament. His best results at the four Grand Slams event, namely the Australian Open, the French Open, the Wimbledon, and the US open have been: Quarter finals, Third Round, Fourth Round and Quarter finals respectively. His current ranking, the ninth has been the highest in his entire career, until now.

Mardy Fish is son to Tom and Sally Fish, who are Tennis professional and Housewife respectively. Quite probably, it had been his father who had been the motivational force in propelling Mardy towards tennis. When the Fish family moved to Boca Raton in Florida, Mardy Fish had attended his junior and senior high schools, along with Andy Roddick, who is also a fellow tennis player, recently beaten by his childhood friend to lose the highest American ranking. Ever since, Mardy Fish and the family is living with Roddick’s family, and the two of them are playing for the same Tennis and Basketball teams.

Fish already had turned a pro in the year 2000, but he had achieved significant increase in his rankings not until in the year 2003, when he had won his first ATP title of the year. He also reached the finals of the Cincinnati open, his biggest achievement till now. In the very same year, he had also defeated Robin Soderling at the Stockholm open in Stockholm, and The former world’s number one Carlos Moya, in the second round of Australian Open. This propelled his career rankings to a great deal, and he ended the year at the then career high, of twenty. In the year 2006, Fish had won the US men’s claycourt championship by defeating Jurgen Melzer in the

End. In  the same year at Wimbledon, the player reached the third round by beating his fellow countryman and a Dutch player; where eventually he bowed out due to a food poisoning  case; until then he was able to play his first set. In the year 2007 at the Australian Open, he put up his best possible show where he lost only to a player, who was not only a fellow countrymen, but also an old friend, room partner, as well his school buddy. Any guesses? Well, it was Andy Roddick.

Mardy Fish is married to Stacey Gardner, who is a California Attorney, as well as a “Brief Case Model” in the show Deal or no deal, in the year 2008 in a Jewish wedding ceremony; to whom he had been engaged since the year 2007; and his fellow countrymen and tennis player James Blake served as a groomsman. He is also friends with the dynammmic tennis duo; Bob and Mike Bryan.
