In February of 2007, Simon competed at an event in Marseille. He successfully reached the final match and defeated Marcos Baghdatis – it was Simon’s very first title. The match itself was a challenging one, but the final score ended up being 6-4, 7-6(3). Simon’s success pushed him to work harder and continued to climb.

A year before, Simon attempted to win his first title at a tournament in Valencia. Unfortunately, he was defeated by Spanish player Nicolas Almagro in the final match. On March 19, 2007, Simon entered the top 100 – a truly elite status. He was ranked as the 38th best player in the world and it is currently his highest ranking yet.

At the 2006 Australian Open, Simon made it to the third round, an impressive feat. He then competed at the U.S Open, where he reached the second round. He also played at the Wimbledon, but was eliminated in the first round.

In 2007, Simon continued to participate in a number of events, the main one being the Roland Garros. Simon passed the first round, but was soon eliminated thereafter. Despite his loss, one thing is certain – Simon has talent. He most definitely has the potential to become one of the best players in tennis history.
